sale taken before such commissioners; And whereas,
it is right and proper to obviate such doubts as well as
to provide for future cases; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That bills of sale which have been
heretofore or which may be hereafter acknowledged
by the grantor or grantors therein, before a commissioner
appointed by virtue of the act passed at December
session eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter
ninety-seven, or before any officer out of the State,
authorised to take the acknowledgment of deeds or instruments
under seal shall have the same effect as if
the same had been acknowledged before any officer or
officers, within the State of Maryland, authorised to
take the acknowledgment of bills of sale.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall be
in force from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 271.
AN ACT to fix the per diem and mileage of the Judges
of the Orphans' Court of Worcester County, pursuant
to the seventeenth section of the fourth article of
the constitution.

SECTION 1. Be it
enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That each of the judges of the Orphans'
court of Worcester county, shall be paid a per diem
rate for the time they are in session, of two dollars, and
each judge shall be paid five cents per mile mileage,
for going to and returning from each and every session
of the said court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the per diem and
mileage above provided, shall be payable from the time
the aforesaid judges were qualified and took their seats,
and that this act shall take effect from its passage.
