     SEC. 9.  And be it enacted, That this act shall be
continued in force for twenty years, and until the end
of the next session of the General Assembly that shall
happen thereafter, unless sooner repealed by the Legislature.
In force.
     SEC. 10.  And be it enacted, That the stockholders
and directors shall be liable to the amount of their
respective share or shares of stock, for all the debts and
liabilities of the corporation hereby created, whether
upon note, bill or otherwise, and no director or other
officer of said corporation shall borrow any money from
said corporation.
Liability.
      SEC. 11.  And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
expressly reserves the right to alter or repeal
this act, or any part thereof, at pleasure.
Reservation.


                           CHAPTER 228.

AN ACT authorising the Orphan's Court of Charles
     county, to appoint Commissioners to divide Primary
     School District number one, of the third election District
     of Charles county, and create a new School District
     therein.



     Passed May
18, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the orphans' court of Charles
county is hereby authorised to appoint three discreet
and sensible men, residents of primary school district
number one, of the third election district of said county,
whose duty it shall be to lay off and divide said school
district, so as to create a new school district therein, if
they should deem the same necessary for the convenience
and accommodation of the residents of said school
district.
     Authority to
appoint commissioners.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the persons appointed
by virtue of the preceding section, shall report
to the orphans' court their proceedings under said appointment
or commission, setting forth the lines which
they may agree upon, as the limits of the new school
district, which they may lay off and create, and also
the lines of the old school district as they may be effected
or altered by the creation of said new district, if they
