CHAPTER 185.
AN ACT ceding to the United States of America the
jurisdiction over the addition to the site of the Naval
School of Annapolis.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the jurisdiction and control over the
lands about to be purchased by the United States as an
addition to the site of the Naval school at Annapolis,
and the water and all other rights appertaining thereto,
together with the parts of streets included therein, be,
and the same are hereby vested in the United States of
America, for military and naval purposes, the whole
comprehended within the following courses and bounds,
namely: beginning for the said addition at the point on
the northeast side of Scott street, where it would be
intersected by the extension of the line of the northwest
side of Governor's street, seven feet from the northwest
side of the present gate of the Naval school fronting
Governor's street, thence running southwestwardly
across Scott street, and in the line of and bounding on
the northwest side of Governor's street to its intersection
with the northeast side of Hanover street, thence
northwestwardly in the line of, and bounding on the
northeast side of Hanover street, as now laid off, and
across northeast street, and with the northeast side of
Hanover street, as extended to the intersection thereof
with the southeast side of Tabernacle street as extended,
thence northeastwardly in the line of, and
bounding on the southeast side of Tabernacle street,
as extended in a straight line to the River Severn, thence
southeastwardly with the shores of that river to the present
site of the Naval school; Provided always, and
the cession and jurisdiction aforesaid, are granted upon
the express condition that this commonwealth shall retain
a concurrent jurisdiction with the United States,
in and over the said ceded lands and territory, so far as
that all civil and such criminal process, as may issue
under the authority of this State, against any person or
persons changed with crimes committed without said
lands and ceded territory, may be executed therein in
the same way and manner, as though this cession and
consent had never been made and granted, except so
far as such process may effect the real and personal property
of the United States within the said ceded territory.
