SEC. 4. And be it enacted,
That so much of the
act of eighteen hundred and forty-nine, chapter four
hundred and eighty-seven, entitled, an act to incorporate
the Doughoregan and Montgomery Plank or
Turnpike road company, as is inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the time of the passage thereof.

107.
AN ACT for the relief of the heirs at law of John V.
Swearingan, one of the securities of Otho H. Williams,
late Clerk of Washington County Court.

WHEREAS, Application has been
made to the General
Assembly of Maryland, by the heirs at law of John
V. Swearingan, for a release from liability for interest
due on a judgment obtained in Washington county
court, by the State of Maryland against the executors,
heirs and terretenants of John V. Swearingan, and it
has been made to appear that such release would be
equitable, Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the State's Attorney for Washington
county, on the production of the receipts of the Treasurer
of Maryland, showing that the sum of twenty-two
hundred and five dollars and eighty-three cents, over
and above all payments made up to the day of the
passage of this act, has been paid into the Treasury of
Maryland, before the eleventh day of July eighteen
hundred and fifty-three, on account of a judgment
obtained in Washington county court at November term
eighteen hundred and fifty, in favor of the State of
Maryland against George Shafer, Martha B. Shafer,
Samuel E. Rench, Susan E. Rench, heirs at law and
terretenants of John V. Swearingan, deceased, and on
the payment to said State's attorney of all costs due on
said judgment, and proceedings consequent thereon,
is hereby authorised and required to enter such judgment
satisfied.
