Dec. Ses. 1825.

            JOSEPH KENT, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

sum of money has been laid aside by said president and directors,
for the purpose of paying the notes of the institution
still out-standing; which in its present state yields no interest or
benefit, to the stockholders of said bank.

Payment not
being demanded
in 3 years
stockholders
may divide.
 

Proviso.

    2.  Be it therefore enacted, That the president and directors of the
Havre De Grace Bank aforesaid, be and they are hereby authorised,
that if payment of said notes shall not have been demanded
within three years, from the passage of this act, then
and in such case, to divide the said sum of money, or such part
thereof, as may then remain among the stockholders of the said
bank, in proportion to the number of shares held by them respectively;
Provided, notice be given to the holders of said
notes, of the substance and effect of this section of the act, by
publication in one or more newspapers printed in the city of
Baltimore, for eight successive weeks, before the first day of
August next.

                                            CHAPTER 152.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act relating to a Public Landing and
    Wharf at a place commonly called the Ship Yard, in Kent county,
    passed December session 1824, chapter 142.


Road to cease.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by  the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the first day of April next, or so soon thereafter,
as the road and landing laid down by the commissioners
under the act of eighteen hundred and twenty-four, on the land
of Henry Tilghman, shall be opened and completed for public
use, that all part of the public road in Kent county, which lies
and extends from the end of one hundred and seven and an
half perches on the road commencing at Redwood Run, and
running to the old wharf on the north east branch of Langford's
Bay, shall cease to be a public road of said county, or cease to
be used as such.
    Two gates
allowed.
    2.  And be it enacted, That Henry Tilghman, his heirs or assigns
shall have the right and privilege to erect and keep two
gates on the public road laid down on his land by the commissioners
under the act of eighteen hundred and twenty-four, any
law to the contrary notwithstanding.

                                            CHAPTER 153.

An act for the relief of Elizabeth Hammond, the wife of Johnson Hammond,
                                        of Washington county.

    Control annulled.     Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, 
That Johnsa Hammond, shall, from the passage of this act, be
and he is hereby altogether deprived of all and every interest,
