            JOSEPH KENT, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

    2.  And be it enacted, That after having made such allotment
the commissioners aforesaid, or a majority of them shall return
their proceedings to the next county court, that shall happen
thereafter to be ratified or rejected, as justice may dictate, and if
ratified, the partition so made shall be recorded and remain and
be binding upon all the parties and upon all persons claiming
under them respectively.

Equalizing.     3.  And be it enacted, That the said shares respectively shall be liable
in the first place for the payment to those to whom the others
shall be as aforesaid, allotted of such sums as by the return
of the commissioners aforesaid shall appear necessary to equalise
the value of the said shares, and that the shares which may
be allotted to the heirs or representatives of Henry O'Neal and
John O'Neal shall enure to them, subject to the same liabilities
and right as if this partition and allotment had been made and
ratified in the lifetime of the said John O'Neal and Henry
O'Neal respectively.

                                            CHAPTER 149.

An act to reduce the salary of the Examiner General of the Eastern
                                                  Shore.

Preamble.     WHEREAS, the business of the land office on the eastern
shore of this state, has so much diminished, as to leave but
little duty to be performed by the examiner general; And
whereas, good policy requires that salaries liberal, but not profuse,
should be provided for the public officers, proportioned
to the duties required to be performed; Therefore,
    Account on
oath for fees;
salary $200.
    Sec. 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the examiner general of the eastern shore, from and after
the passage of this act, shall account once in each year, on
oath, with the treasurer of the eastern shore, for all fees of his
office by him received, or which may be due to him; and that 
the said treasurer upon a liquidation of the said account, shall
pay to the said examiner, out of any unappropriated money
in the treasury, such sum as together with the said account
of fees shall make up a salary of two hundred dollars current
money.
Former law
repealed.
    2.  And be it enacted, That the act of assembly entitled, a
supplement to the act respecting certificates of survey made on
the eastern shore passed at November session, seventeen hundred
and ninety seven, chapter fifty three, be, and the same is
hereby repealed.
