The Senate met at 11.30 a. m.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Mills
Present at roll-call the following Senators:

Biddison, Brewington, Dashiell, Devilbiss, Dixon,
Foxwell, Gadd, Gill, German, Gieenwell, Griffith,
Kirwan. Lewis, McCullough. Moore, Palmer, Perkins,
Robinson, Roe, Thomas, Wilson, Young—26.
The Journal of Monday, January 18th, 1904, was
read and approved.

The President laid before the Senate the evidence in
the contested election case of William E. Northam vs.
Lewis McK. Griffith.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Elections (hereafter to be appointed).

ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. Betts, it was
Ordered, That two typewriters and desks, and also
two tables be furnished by the President of the Senate
for the use of the Senate.
Mr. Betts moved that said order be considered with-
out reference, and thereupon the same was adopted
by yeas and nays, as follows :
