an addition to the Cook Home, at Belair, in Harford
county."
Endorsed : "Read the third time, and passed by
yeas and nays.
Which was read the first time, and referred to Sen-
ators Robinson, McCullough and Biddison.
JOINT CONVENTION OF THE GENERAL ASSEM-
BLY OF MARYLAND.
ELECTION OF A SENATOR IN CONGRESS
Pursuant to adjournment,
The hour of 12 o'clock, meridian, having arrived,
The Senators of Maryland, escorted by Messrs.
Collins and Feaga, the committee appointed by the
House of Delegates for that purpose, appeared in the
Hall of the House of Delegates for the purpose of
convening with the Members of the House of Delegates
in Joint Assembly for the election of a Senator from
this State, for a term six years, from March 4th, 1905.
in succession of the Hon. Louis E McComas, whose
term will then expire
The Senators, accompanied by their Secretary, hav-
ing been seated in the Hall of the House of Delegates,
the Secretary of the Senate called the roll of Senators.
The Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates called
the roll of the House of Delegates, a quorum of each
House being present
The Speaker of the House of Delegates, assumed the
chair as Chairman of the Joint Assembly
The Secretary of the Senate then read the Journal of
the proceedings of the Senate on the preceding day
in relation to the balloting for a Senator, in, the Con-
gress of the United States from this State, showing the
fact that no person at the Vote so taken had received a
majority of all the votes of the Senators of the State
