JOINT CONVENTION OP THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND.

ELECTION OF A SENATOR IN CONGRESS.
|

|
|
|
|
|
Pursuant to adjournment.
The hour of 12 o'olock meridian having arrived, the
Senators of Maryland, escorted by Messrs. Collins and
Faega, the committee appointed by the House of Dele-
gates for that purpose, appeared in the hall of the
House of Delegates, for the purpose of convening with
the members of the Houjse of Delegates in joint as-
sembly, for the election of a Senator from this State
for the term of six years from the 4rh of March, 1905,
in succession to the Hon. Louis E. McComas whose
term will then expire.
The Senators, accompanied by their Secretary, hav-
ing been seated in the Hall of the House of Delegates
the Secretary of the Senate called the roll of Senators.
The Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates, called
the roll of the House of Delegates, a quorum of each
House being present.
The Speaker of the House of Delegates assumed the
Chair as Chairman of the Joint Assembly.
The Secretary of the Senate then read the Journal
of the proceedings of the Senate on the preceding day
in relation to the balloting for a Senator in the Con-
gress of the United States from this State showing the
fact that no person at the vote so taken had received
a majority of all the votes of the Senators of the State
of Maryland for Senator in the Congress of the United
States for six years, in succession to the Hon. Louis
