With the following proposed amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after section 1, and insert in lieu
thereof the following words: "Be it enacted by the

General Assembly of Maryland, that the sum of two
hundred and fifty dollars be and the same is hereby
appropriated to pay the claims of John Johnson, Jas.
Campbell and Thomas Evans, and the Comptroller of
the Treasury is hereby empowered and directed to
draw his warrant on the Treasurer to the order of
John Johnson, for said sum of money, same to be paid
out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise ap-
propriated.

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the aid of St. John's

College,

With the following proposed amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In line 5, of preamble, strike out "three" and in-
sert "two."

In section 1, line 5, strike out "twelve" and insert
"six."

In section 1, line 7, strike out "six" and insert

"two."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate Joint Resolution authorizing the Comptroller
of the Treasury Department to strike from the books
of his office certain old and worthless accounts, and
to discontinue the publication of the same in the an-
nual report of the Comptroller of the Treasury.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be

engrossed for a third reading.

And, unfavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize Frank B,
Mayer to execute a series of drawings, not less than
25 in number, showing the devises proper for the seals
