funeral expenses, as well as any other expenses in-
curred by reason of and incident to the death of the
late Senator from Calvert county, and that the Chair-
man of the Committee on Claims issue his certificate
to pay the same, upon the certificate and endorsement
of approval of the bills for said expenses by the said
Committee on Finance.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Mr. Seibert submitted the following:

Ordered, That the State Printer print and bind in
paper one thousand copies of the Report of the State
Tax Commissioner. The cost of the printing to be
as provided for in the Code, the cost of bining to be
charged for at a fair market price, provided, that the
entire cost of printing and binding shall not exceed
the sum of 8150.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee
on Finance.

On motion by Mr. Moss, it was

Ordered, That Senators Bennett and Newman, on
account of sickness, be excused from attendance until
otherwise ordered by the Senate.

On motion by Mr. Getty, it was
Ordered, That Senator Brown be excused from to-
day's session of the Senate, on account of important
business.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.

By Mr. Gorter, the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to grant the sanction and
consent of the General Assembly of Maryland to the
legacy contained in the will of the late Hannah B.
Gaither, to the Baltimore Orphan Asylum.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at
the January Session of 1878, chapter 343, Code of
Public General Laws, Article 27, title "Crimes and
Punishments, " sub-title "House of Refuge, " section
553, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which were read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.
