PETITIONS, MEMORIALS, &o.

Mr. Waters presented the memorial of 53 citizens of

Somerset county, against the use of Fyke or pound
nets in the waters of Monie Bay and Creek.

Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Waters,
Dawson and Austin,

Mr. Dawson presented the memorial of Geo. Ford
and 290 other citizens of Caroline county, asking that
the County Treasurer be required to collect the State
and county taxes in Caroline county.

Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Dawson,
Austin and Waters.

Mr. Lloyd presented the memorial of Sarah C.
Mathews, Florence Hubbard and 57 other citizens of
Talbot county, in favor of the local option law.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.

Mr. Wilkinson presented the memorial of Charles
T. Martin and 21 other citizens of St. Mary's county,
against the shortening of the oyster season.

Also, the memorial of Wm. A. Stone and 150 other
citizens and oystermen of St. Mary's county, against

the shortening of the oyster season.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
