the office vacant, and give notice to the party con-
cerned; an appeal may be taken to the State Board of
Education, whose decision shall be final, but if no ap-
peal be taken within ten days, the vacancy shall be
filled as hereinbefore provided.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be
and the same are hereby repealed; provided, how-
ever, that the present Boards of County School Com-
missioners shall continue to serve until the boards ap-
pointed under the provisions of this Act shall qualify.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Which were considered, and ordered to be printed
as amended, and made the Order of the Day for Wed-
nesday, March 2nd, 1892, at 1 P. M.

Senate bill entitled an Act to pay to the School
Commissioners of Garrett county a sum of money out
of the State School Tax.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

And, unfavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments sections 98 and 102, of Article 77,
of the Code of Public Education, sub-title "Schools
for Colored Children, " and sources of income re-
spectively.

Which was considered, and
On motion by Mr. Pearre,

Said bill was withdrawn from the files of the
Senate.

Mr. Evans, from the Committee on Printing, re-
ported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the proper
indexing of the journals and volume of laws of the
General Assembly.

Which was considered, and amendments reported
from the Finance Committee adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
