Resolved, That the thanks of the Senators of Mary-
land be and the same are hereby extended to the Hon.
Edward Lloyd for the courteous, dignified and im-
partial manner in which he has presided over this
session of the Senate.

Said resolution was adopted.

Mr. Posey presented the following :

Resolved, That the thanks of the Senate be and the
same are hereby tendered to the Secretary of the Sen-
ate, the Journal Clerk and Reading Clerk, for the
attentive and courteous discharge of their duties.

The President arose and addressed the Senate as
follows:

SENATORS:—The session of the Legislature, under
the limit of the Constitution of ninety days, has ex-
pired. -

Before separating, it becomes my pleasant duty to
acknowledge the uniform courtesy and forbearance I
have received from you as your presiding officer.

In accepting the position you unanimously called
me to, I said then I had apprehensions on my part of
not meeting your expectations in the decisions of the
Chair, which would be required of it. Whether I
have done so or not, there has been at no time during
the session of the Senate any evidence on your part
of disapproval of my course.
