power and direct the County Commissioners of Prince
George's county to purchase the District of Columbia
and Upper Marlboro' Turnpike Company, Mr. Coffin
having been opposed to a favorable report on said bill

Which was adopted.

Mr. Moss presented the following :

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims pay John
B. Flood twenty-four dollars and twenty-four cents,
for ice furnished the Senate during the session of 1892.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Mr. Hayes presented the following:

Whereas, It may be necessary that the Governor
will have to reconvene the Senate in Executive Ses-
sion to confirm the appointments of assessors and
school commissioners ; therefore

Ordered, That in such event the officers only entitled
to be present in Executive Session, namely, the Secre-
tary, Reading and Journal Clerks and Sergeant-at-
Arms, be paid for attendance on such session.

Which was adopted,

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Getty, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported unfavorably,

House bill entitled an Act to regulate the price of
illuminating gas in Annapolis city.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Getty, from a majority of said Committee on
Corporations, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Cumber-
land Valley Railroad Company to connect with the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, at or near Powell's Bend,
where its railroad bridge crosses said Canal and the
Potomac River.

Which was read the third time, and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows :
