ORDER OF THE DAY,

The hour of 12 M. having arrived, the President
announced the Order of the Day, to be the considera-
tion of

House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 9, 10
and 12, of Article 13, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes."

Which was considered, and the amendments here-
tofore submitted at yesterday's session, by Mr. Evans,
were withdrawn.

Mr. Gorter submitted the following proposed amend-
ments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words "a bill entitled," and
in insert as follows:

"An Act to add a new section to Article 4, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore,"
under the new sab-title "Bills of Exchange and
Promissory Notes," to come in said Article alpha-
betically, in proper place, to be designated as "Sec-
tion 120 X."

"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a new section be and the same is
hereby added to Article 4, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," under the new
sub-title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes,"
to be located as to its proper alphabetical place in
said A'rticle, to be designated as 'Section 120 X,' and
to read as follows:
