same was amended by the act of eighteen hundred and

seventy-six, chapter three hundred and fifty-one, entitled

" An act to repeal sections one to thirteen, both inclusive,

of article forty-four of the Code of Public General Laws,"

title " Maryland Hospital," and to enact in lieu thereof

the following, to be arranged as sections of said article

of the Code, by amending section four of said article, and

by re-enacting said section four as amended, and by add-

ing an additional section to said article forty-four, as so

amended by the act of eighteen hundred and seventy-six,

chapter three hundred and fifty-one............................

ury, in settling the amount due the State by the Cum-

berland and Pennsylvania Railroad Company, for the

State tax upon its gross receipts, to deduct therefrom the

amount of taxes erroneously paid the State by the Con-

solidation Coal Company upon the valuation of the prop-

erty of said Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad
