and upon failure to pay said fine and the cost of

prosecution shall be sentenced to be confined in the

county jail for a period not less than five days nor

more than fifteen days.

SEC. 3. And le it further enacted, That one-half

sioners for the use of the public roads.

CHAPTER 454.

AN ACT to authorize the Comptroller to issue his

warrant upon the Treasurer to pay James M.

Anderson, late Collector of State Taxes for the

city of Baltimore, a sum of money for commis-

sions on taxes paid directly into th'e treasury.

SECTION 1. And be it enacted ly the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant

the sum of four hundred dollars, for commissions on

taxes paid directly into the treasury.
