CHAPTER 378.

AN ACT to repeal section seventy-two of article

five of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled

"Calvert County," sub-title "Sheriff," as amended

by the act of eighteen hundred and seventy four,

chapter four hundred and seventeen, and to re-

enact the same so as to read as follows :

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That section seventy-two of article

five of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled

Repealed and
re-unacted.

" Calvert County," sub-title " Sheriff," as amended by
the act of eighteen hundred and seventy-four, chap-

ter four hundred and seventeen, be and the same is

hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as

follows :

72. The sheriff of Calvert county shall receive

oner in jail, and shall also receive a sum of money,
not to exceed forty dollars, for conveying to the State
penitentiary, or to any other place of punishment

situated beyond the limits of said county, every per-

son sentenced thereto by the Circuit Court for Cal-

vert county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall

take effect from the date of its passage.
