thereof as may be necessary ; for printing the an-

 

nual report of the Comptroller, one thousand dol-

 

lars ; for printing, expenses and clerical services,

 

stationery and postage in the office- of the Attor-

 

ney General, thirteen hundred dollars, or so much

 

thereof as may be necessary.

 

SCHOOLS.

 

To the several counties, and to the city of Balti-

lic Schools,

more, for the support of the system of Free Public
Schools, white and colored, for the State Normal

&c.

School and State Board of Education, to be appor-

 

tioned by the Comptroller, according to law, five

 

hundred thousand dollars, or whatever sum may

 

be paid into the Treasury on account of the levy

 

of Public School Tax, and such other sums as may

 

be received to the credit of the Free School Fund

 

from tax on the circulation of banks and from the

 

interest on stocks standing to the credit of said

 

funds, together with the sum of thirty-four thou-

 

sand and sixty-nine dollars and thirty-six cents, to

 

be paid out of any money in the Treasury not

 

otherwise appropriated, to be placed to the credit

 

of the Free School Funds in accordance with the

 

provisions of the act of December session, eighteen

 

hundred and thirty-nine, chapter thirty-three, and

 

substituted for the interest on the surplus revenue,

 

as provided in said act; provided, that the sum of

 

one hundred thousand dollars of the receipts from

 

Public School Tax shall be distributed for colored

 

schools after deducting the amount payable to the

 

Colored Normal School, and the balance for white

 

schools, the State Normal School for whites, and

 

the State Board of Education ; for donations to

 

colleges, academies and schools, as per acts and

 

resolutions heretofore passed, forty thousand dol-

 

lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary;

 

provided, that none of the appropriations to col-

 

leges, academies and schools, shall be paid to any

 

such institutions unless said institutions shall have

 

made a full report, as required by section four of

 

article eighty-four of the Code of Public General

 

Laws ; to the Deaf and Dumb Asylum at Freder-

 

ick, for the education of the Deaf and Dumb,

 

twenty thousand dollars ; to the Maryland Agri-
