SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the said commis-

sioners shall have power to designate some justice

penalties thereunder, in accordance with the provi-

justice, in the name of said commissioners, the said

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said com-

may deem wise, equitable and expedient for the

comfort, health, convenience and prosperity of the

said town and its inhabitants, for the prevention and

removal of nuisances, preservation of the public

peace, and the suppression of vice and immorality
within the limits of said town, and shall have power

to lay an equal tax on the property within the
|
 
|
limits of said town, to such an amount each year,
|
 
|
not exceeding the sum of twenty-five cents on each
|
 
|
hundred dollars worth of property, as may be deemed
|
 
|
necessary to accomplish the purposes aforesaid and
|
 
|
defray the necessary expenses of said corporation ;
which taxes so levied and assessed shall be collected
