CHAPTER 281.

|
AN ACT to extend the limits of Crisfield by an-
|
|
|
nexing a part of Crisfield district, in Somerset
|
|
|
county, and to provide for taking the vote of the
|
|
|
people residing in said part or portion to be so
|
|
|
annexed for or against such annexation.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That all that part of Crisfield
|
|
|
district, in Somerset county, lying between the pres-
|
|
|
ent limits of Crisfield and the metes and bounds
|
Annexation.
|
|
hereinafter named, be and the same is hereby an-
|
|
|
nexed to and made a part of the town of Crisfield, to
|
|
|
wit : Beginning at the present boundary of the said
town set up at Hammock Point, thence by a straight
|

line, touching the southeast corner of Henry F.
|
|
|
Gewitt's house, to the new county road from the
|
|
|
high school to Asbury church, thence by a straight
|
|
|
line to a point on the east side of the Eastern Shore
|
|
|
Railroad and the north side of the new county road,
|
|
|
through the lands of James H. Wards, to Mariner's
|
|
|
church, where the said railroad and county road
|
|
|
cross each other, and from the said intersection by a
|
|
|
straight line to the most westerly point of land or
|
|
|
marsh projecting into the Little Annamessex river,
|
|
|
on the west side thereof, near David Marsh's house,
|
|
|
northward of the said town of Crisfield, and thence
|
|
|
in a straight line to the bounds of said town set up on
Long Point ; provided the provisions of the act for
|

taking, the sense of the people by ballot shall be
|
|
|
complied with.
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commission-
|
|
|
ers of Crisfield shall designate two justices of the
|
|
|
peace in and for Somerset county, who shall select
|
|
|
and appoint three judges of election, and shall ad-

oath prescribed for judges of elections at general
|

elections in the State, and said judges shall preside

|
at any election held as provided hereafter in this
|
|
|
act to take the sense of the people as to the annexa-

|
tion of the said part of Crisfield district.
