SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the bequest of five hundred dol-


lars, made to the Vestry of Prince George's Parish,


in Montgomery county, by the last will and testa-


ment of Ursula Wilcoxen, late of said county, de-

firmed and made valid, and the said Vestry be and


they are hereby authorized and empowered to take


and receive said sum of five hundred dollars, and


hold the same subject to the provisions of said will.

This act is in no manner to effect the legal construc-


tion of the said will and testament, or impair any


rights of the devisees or legatees, but its intendment


is simply to relieve the said Christ Church, Prince


George's Parish, from the constitutional prohibition


now existingunder article thirty-eight of the Dec-


laration of Rights, only conferring upon the said


Christ Church, Prince George's Parish, such rights,


and none others, to assert its claims to the said legacy


as it would possess did no such constitutional pro-


hibition exist.

CHAPTER 44.


AN ACT for the better protection of insectivorous


birds in Somerset county.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That it shall be unlawful hereafter

for any person, at any time, to shoot or otherwise


kill or injure any of the following named birds within


the limits of Somerset county, viz.: Blue bird, thrush,


martin, swallow, mocking bird, oriole, red bird, spar-
row, whippoorwill, wren, goldfinch, sapsucker, swamp
