CHAPTER 159.

AN ACT to repeal chapter two hundred and twen-
|
 
|
ty of the acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-
|
 
|
six, entitled an act to establish a free bridge over
|
 
|
the Patapsco river, at or near the present site of
|
 
|
Light street bridge, and to provide for free travel
|
 
|
from Anne Arundel county to Baltimore city,
|
 
|
and to enact the following in lieu thereof, so as to
|
 
|
read as follows :
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of
|
 
|
Baltimore, and the County Commissioners of Anne
|
 
|
Arundel county, be, and they are hereby authorized,
|
 
|
empowered and directed to purchase the bridge over
|

the Patapsco river, known as " Light street bridge,"
together with the buildings, abutments and all other

appurtenances thereto belonging or appertaining,
and to keep and maintain the same as a free bridge

at all times, if the owners thereof will, on or before

and City Council of Baltimore, and the County Com-

missioners of Anne Arundel county, at a price and

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the Mayor and

City Council of Baltimore and the County Commis-

sioners of Anne Arundel county, shall not be able,
