ary 1886, and the 13th day of February, 1888, and the
amount misappropriated by him subsequent to the
approval, on the 30th day of January, 1890, of his
third official bond, and the total costs, and the said
fee of two thousand dollars to the said John P. Poe,
State's special counsel in said cases), the said sureties
and their legal representatives, and their heirs, devi-
sees and legatees shall be released from every and all
liability to the State for and on account of their
suretyship for said Archer on any and all of the offi-
cial bonds given by him as State Treasurer, and all
judgments or suits against them or any of them, or
their legal representatives, or devisees or legatees of
any of them at law or in equity, shall be entered, sat-
isfied or assigned as hereinafter provided.
"Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That it shall be
the duty of the Attorney General of this State, upon
receding notice from the said officers of the Treasury
Department of the payment by said sureties, or their
legal representatives, or devisees, or legatees of any
of them as aforesaid, of said sum of thirty-seven thou-
sand two hundred and two dollars and twenty-eight
cents; to make such entries in the several suits
brought against said sureties, or their legal represen-
tatives or devisees or legatees of any of them, as may
be necessary and proper to record satisfaction of all
judgments or demands of the State against said sure-
ties, and their legal representatives and devisees or
legatees of any of them, or to assign, or enter said
judgments or suits or any part thereof to the use of
such person or persons as may have paid the same.
"Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That upon the
payment of the said amount hereinbefore provided to
be paid by said sureties to the Treasury of this State,
the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer in
favor of John P. Poe, for two thousand dollars, in
full payment of his professional services as said
special counsel of the State in all of said suits.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage."
