Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1 and
2, of chapter 516, of the Laws of Maryland, passed by
the General Assembly of Maryland, at the December
Session of the year 1849, and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to add additional sections
thereto, entitled "Section 2 A, section 2 B, section
2 C and section 2 D "
Which were severally read a second time.
Also, reported back to tke House without recom-
mendation,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 230, of
Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Obstructing Railroads," sub-title "Railroad Ob-
structing," and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Brashears, the House resolved
itself into a
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE HOUSE,
To consider said bill in relation to "Obstructing
Railroads," on its 3d reading and final passage.
The Speaker called Mr. Fitzgerald to the chair.
When said bill in relation to "Obstructing Rail-
roads" and "Railroad Obstructing"
Was considered.
Mr. Brashears submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PEOPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "A bill," and insert
the following:
"Entitled an Act to repeal section 230, of Article
27, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes
and Punishments," sub-title "'Railroads Obstruct-
ing," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section 230, of Article 27, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments," 'sub-title "Railroads Obstructing," be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:
"Sec. 230. If any person shall place anything or
cause anything to be placed on any railroad in this
State calculated to obstruct overthrow or divert
