PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Sams presented a petition from E. B. Pretty-
man, Jas. L. Bryan, W. H. Dashiell and others, of
the Maryland State Teachers Association, in favor of
adding to the State School Fund the amount of money
due to the State of Maryland from the Federal Treas-
ury under Act of Congress approved March 21, 1851.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Education. -
The Speaker laid before the House the following
communication from the State Treasurer, together with
