So the motion to indefinitely postpone was rejected.
Mr. Carter then, by unanimous consent of the House,
withdrew his motion to postpone consideration of said
bill until March 9th.
Mr. Carter then moved to postpone further con-
sideration of said bill until March 15th, and make it
the Order of the Day for that day at 12.30 P. M.
Which motion prevailed.

ORDER OF THE DAY.
The hour of 1.30 having arrived, the House con-
sidered the Order of the Day, being heretofore intro-
duced by Mr, Collins, viz :
Ordered, That the Ways and Means Committee be
and they are hereby instructed to include in their
assessment bill the taxation of mortgages.
On motion, further consideration postponed and
made the Order of the Day for Tuesday, February 9th,
at 12.30 P. M.

money to pay A. S. Abell & Co , and others, for pub-
lishing the Constitutional Amendments and Gov-
ernor's Proclamation, according to contract made
with the State of Maryland.
Was read a second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
BILLS—THIRD READING.
House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 157,
160, 163, 164, 166 and 174, of Article 11, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick
County," sub-title "Frederick," relating to the Mayor
and Aldermen of Frederick, and to re-enact said sec-
tions with amendments.
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays,
