We have appointed on the part of the House,
Messrs. Carter, Berret, Stearns, Laird and Orrick.
Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.
The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:
BY THE SENATE,
January 6th, 1892.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We have received your message proposing the
appointment of a Joint Committee of eight, five on
the part of the House and three on the part of the
Senate, to wait on the Governor-elect and inform him
of his election and request his attendance on Wednes-
day, January 18th, at 12 M., at the State House, to
qualify according to the Constitution and form of
gevernment of this State, and to make arrangements
for the inaugural ceremonies.
We have appointed on the part of the Senate,
Messrs. Evans, Bennett nnd Wirt.

Gentlemen of the Senate:
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honor-
able Body, ihat when the General Assembly adjourns
to-day, it stands adjourned until Tuesday next, at 8
P. M
Which was read,
Mr. Laird submitted the following proposed amend-
ment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out the words "8 P. M." and insert the
words "12 M."
Which was adopted.
Said message, as amended, was then adopted.
