by chapter 230, of the Acts passed at the January
Session of 1890.
Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by
yeas and nays, with proposed amendments."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
After the figures'1890, in the title, add the follow-
ing: "And to add an additional section thereto, to be
known as 614 A."
Also after the word "re enacted," in 4th line of
section 1 of the bill, insert the following: "And an
additional section, to be known as 614 A, is added
thereto."
Also at the end of section 1 of the bill, add the
following:
"614 A. That where there is an arrest by an officer
of the Police Department in the City of Baltimore, of
any person for violation of an ordinance of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, or a statute of the
General Assembly of the State of Maryland, punishable
by fine and not by imprisonment during the hours when
the police magistrates are not at their respective
station houses, the police captain, lieutenant or other
officer on duty and in charge of such station is
hereby authorized and empowered to release for the
next hearing before the police magistrate, any person
so arrested, upon a deposit of an amount equal to the
fine or costs or penalty imposed if found guilty as
surety for such appearance, and after the hearing the
desposit is to be returned to the depositor if the com-
plaint is dismissed; if otherwise, it is to be appropri-
ated as designated by law."
Also,
Strike out figure "5," inline 12 of section 1, and in-
sert in lieu thereof the figure "3," and strike out the
figure "6," in said line of said section, and insert in
lieu thereof the figure "4."
