Also, favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act authorizing and directing
the return of certain moneys to Wm. W. Evans and
Wm. P. Barnes, of Somerset county, paid as fines for
violation of an Act that had been repealed.
Which was read a second time.
Also favorably, with proposed amendment,
House bill entitled an Act to sanction and regulate
the business of money lending on chatties mortgages
and bills of sale by chattle brokers.
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out in section 8, all after the Avord "enacted,"
and insert in lieu thereof as follows:
"No goods mortgaged or bargained and sold to said
chattle broker shall be recovered on default of any
payment agreed to be made by any mortgagor or
bargainer by the writ of replevin, but such chattle
broker shall have such rights to recover the mortgage
debt and interest and legal charges due on any chattle
mortgage or bill of sale as is now provided by law for
the recovery of like charges on real estate.
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read a second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
Also, unfavorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to establish a State
Weather Service, and to make an appropriation
therefor.
On motion of Mr. Sams,
Said bill was substituted for the unfavorable report
and read a second time.
Said bill was on motion made the Order of the Day
for March 81st, at 12 M.
Also, favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act prescribing the regu-
lations and conditions upon which the Board of Pub-
lic Works shall sell the State's interest in all works
of internal improvement, whether as a stockholder or
a Creditor, also the State's interest in any banking
corporation as authorized by section 3, of Article 12,
of the Constitution, as amended by the Acts of 1890,
chapter 362.
