AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend title by inserting at the end thereof the fol-
lowing :
"And to add an additional section to said Article 4,
to be numbered 743 A, and to come in after section
743."
Amend by striking out the words "to read as fol-
lows," in line 5 of section 1, and insert in lieu thereof
the following :
"Also, and let an additional section be added to
said Article 4, to be numbered section 743 A, to come
in after section 743, which section shall read as fol-
lows :
"743 A. The Board of Police Commissioners are
hereby authorized and empowered to appoint and em-
ploy in addition to the number now authorized by
law fifteen additional probation officers, said officers
so appointed to hold their places and receive their
pay under the provisions of law now in force and
applicable to probation officers."
Amend by striking out all after the word "from,"
in section 2, line 2, and insert in lieu thereof the fol-
lowing :
"And after the 31st day of September, 1892."
