Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be and they
are hereby directed to pay to Messrs. J. Gideon Ireland
and Emory F. Lane, and to Thomas B. Turner, and to
Charles S. Parran, and to James A Gott, and to Julius
J. Dalrymple, and to Robert H. Griffith, the sum of
fourteen hundred dollars in the aggregate, for their
couusel fees, witnesses and other expenses in the con-
tested election cases of T. W. Sparklin and Charles
L. Dougherty, for seats in the House of Delegates ; of
Benson B. E. Bond, for office of clerk of the Circuit
Court for Calvert county ; of James C. Chaney for the
office of Register of Wills of Calvert county, and of
R. A. Bafford, Walter H. Alt and Samuel L. Gilmore,
for the office of Judges of the Orphans' Court for Cal-
vert county.

Order of the Day, being the following proposed
amendment to Senate bill No, 40 :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "a bill" and insert
in lieu thereof the following:
"Entitled an Act to prohibit any corporation which
under the laws of this State shall act as surety on
any bond from acting as trustees, executor or ad-
ministrator, guardian, committee or receiver, or in
any one or more of those capacities, without bond or
security other than its own obligation in any case
where bond is required from a natural person.
