ORDERS.
Mr. Frincke submitted the following order, viz:
Ordered, That when this House adjourns to-day, it
stands adjourned until Monday evening at 8 o'clock,
any previous order to the contrary notwithstanding.
Mr. Collins submitted the following proposed amend-
ment to the order :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the word "ordered," and insert
the following in lieu thereof :
"That when the House adjourns to-night it stands
adjourned until 8 P. M. Monday evening, March 28th
instant.
Mr. Carter demanded the yeas and nays.
The demand being sustained,
The yeas and nays were called and appeared as
follows :
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Combs, Strong, Brashears,
Donaldson, Sappmgt'jn, of Anne Arundel, Carrico,
Orrick. Cole, Elliott, Schlaffer, Collins, Wooters,
Leonard, Meredith, Miles, Bowie, of Prince George's,
Bryan, Franklin, Wilkinson, Hayman, McSherry,
Gaver, Grove, of Frederick, Sappington, of Frederick,
Thompson, Carter, Field, Gallagher, Sams, Carr,

Tracey, Ellegood, Bittinger—39.
NEGATIVE—Messrs. Speaker, Garner, Hutchins,
Ireland, Lane, Madaox, Hamilton, Jr., Monmonier,
Green, Anderson, Sterling, Kirk, Grove, of Cecil,
Perrie, Wall en, Godwin, Bevard, Hayward, Deen,
Johnson, Fitzgerald, Brennan, Fox, Bowie, of Balto,
city, O'Conor, Gill, Frincke, Cornthwaite, Joyce,
Fockler, Garrott, Canby, Barber, Young, Leeds, Laws,
Moore— 37.
So the amendment was adopted.
The question then recurred on the original order as
amended.
The order as amended was then adopted.
Mr. Berret submitted the following order, viz :
Ordered, That the Committee on Claims pay to
Thomas Tydings the sum of two hundred and twenty-
five dollars, for services rendered the Committee on
Ways and Means in cleaning and keeping the rooms
of said Committee in good order.
