LAWS OF MARYLAND.


thirty -one thousand five hundred dollars; for the salary of


the attorney general, three thousand dollars ; for commis-


sions to attornies, on claims of the State placed in their


hands for collection, five thousand dollars, or so much


thereof as may be necessary ; for the crier of the Court of


Appeals, one thousand dollars; for the salary of the State


reporter, one thousand dollars; for the State subscription


to two hundred copies each of volumes seventy-seven and


seventy-eight, of the Maryland Reports, twenty-eight


hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,


and for the paper on which said volumes may be printed,


four hundred dollars, or so milch thereof as may be neces-


sary, in accordance with article eighty of the Code of Public


General Laws.


MILITIA.


For the support of the militia of the State, to be expended


under the supervision of the Governor, forty -five thousand

Militia.

dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary ; for the


salary of the adjutant-general of the State, fifteen hundred


dollars, and for contingent expenses of his office, two hundred


and fifty dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary to


be paid out of the appropriation for the support of the militia


and the balance of said appropriation or so much thereof as


may be necessary for the maintainance of the militia in the


various counties of the State and in the city of Baltimore.


PENSIONS.


For the payment of pensions granted by the various acts


and resolutions of the General Assembly to Mrs. Sarah Ann

Pensions.

Watson, Mrs. Julia A. Dorsey and William Brown, during


their natural lives, in accordance with the provisions of


resolution sixty-three, of eighteen hundred and forty -nine,


chapter two hundred and twenty -eight, of eighteen hundred


and seventy-four, and chapter two hundred and sixty-nine,


of eighteen hundred and seventy, five hundred and twenty


dollars.


SCHOOLS.


For the system of free public schools (white and colored),


in the several counties and the city of Baltimore, aud for

Schools.

the State Normal School and the State Board of Education,


to be apportioned by the Comptroller in accordance with.


the laws in such case made and provided and the direc-


tions herein given, five hundred and twenty-five thousand


dollars, or whatsoever sum may be paid into the treasury on
