favor of either of the former separate corporations, and


which said former separate corporations would have been


capable of taking, shall devolve upon said new consolidated


corporation, which shall be regarded as substituted by


operation of law in the room and stead of said former


separate corporation.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments chapter


224 of the Laws of 1890 of the General Assembly of Mary-


land, entitled an act to repeal sections 61, 69 and 74 of


article 23, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-


land, title "Wicomico County" sub-title "Liquors and


Intoxicating Drinks," and to re-enact the same with


amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the' General Assembly of


Maryland, That chapter 224 of the acts of 1890 of the Gen-

and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows :


61. Any person of full age of good character, desiring to


keep an inn or tavern, and to sell intoxicating liquors in

quantities less than a pint to be drunk on the premises, may

been strictly complied with ; first, he shall make application


therefor in writing, and file the same with the clerk of the

Circuit Court for Wicomico County, who shall set a day,

not less than twenty days from the date of the filing of the

said application, when the same shall be heard, the applica-

tion shall clearly state that he is a person of full age ; that


he is desirous of keeping an inn or tavern at some place


particularly designated, that he is the owner or tenant of a


suitable house for the purpose, and the yearly rental


thereof; that he is provided in the said house with at


least three suitable rooms and five beds for the exclusive


use of travelers and guests, and has stables and provender


for at least five horses, and that an inn or a tavern at the
