CHAPTER 634.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to add an additional section to article four of the
|
|
|
|
|
Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore"
|
|
|
|
|
sub-title " Courts " to be known as section 173 A.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|

Maryland, That a new section to be known as section 173
|
|
|
|
added.
|
A, be and the same is hereby added to article 4 of the Code
|
|
|
|
|
of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore" sub -title
|
|
|
|
|
"Courts," so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
|
173 A. The supreme bench of Baltimore City shall annually
|
|
|
|
|
designate two members of the said bench to sit in their
|
|
|
|
Supreme
bench of
|
respective courts attended by their clerks during the annual
|
|
|
|
Baltimore
|
sittings of the registers of voters, and also on the four
|
|
|
|
|
Saturdays immediately preceding the September session of
|
|
|
|
|
the registers of voters in the city of Baltimore, for the pur-
|
|
|
|
|
pose of hearing and determining applications for naturaliza-
|
|
|
|
|
tion, and such application shall have precedence over all
|
|
|
|
|
other business.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And' be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
|
Effective

from the date of its passage.
|
|
|
|
|

CHAPTER 635.
|
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize the mayor and common council of the
|
|
|
|
|
city of Westminster to issue its bonds or certificates of
|
|
|
|
|
indebtedness to an amount not exceeding fifteen thousand
|
|
|
|
|
dollars, for the purpose of providing means for the grading,
|
|
|
|
|
paving or macadamizing the streets in the city of West-
|
|
|
|
|
minster and construction of sewers.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Mayor and
council of
|
Maryland, That the mayor and common council of West-
minster be and they are hereby authorized and empowered
|
|
|
|
West-
minster-
|
to issue bonds, in the name of the mayor and common
|
|
|
|
power to
|
council of Westminster, in sums not less than one hundred
|
|
|
|

bonds.

dollars nor more than one thousand dollars to be sigued by
|
|
|
|
|
the mayor and countersigned by the clerk of said common
|
|
|
|
|
council of Westminster not exceeding in the whole the sum
|
|
|
|
|
of fifteen thousand dollars, bearing interest not exceeding
|
|
|
|
|
five per centum per annum, payable, semi-annually, on the
|
|
|
|
|
first day of January and on the first day of July in each
|
|
|
|
|
and every year, and said bonds shall not be disposed of at
|
|
|
|
|
|
