salary of the Treasurer of the State, two thousand and five


hundred dollars ; for the salary of the chief clerk to the


treasurer, eighteen hundred dollars ; for the salaries of two


assistant clerks to the treasurer, each twelve hundred dol-


lars, making twenty-four hundred dollars; for the salary of


one clerk to the State Tax Commissioner, twelve hundred


dollars ; for the salary of the State Librarian, fifteen hun-


dred dollars ; for the salary of the Commissioner of the


Land office, fifteen hundred dollars ; for the salary of one


clerk to the Commissioner of the Land office, twelve hun-


dred dollars.


JUDICIARY.


For the salaries of the chief judges of the first seven judi-


cial circuits, four thousand five hundred dollars each, thirty-

Associate judges of the first seven judicial circuity three thou-


sand six hundred dollars each, fifty thousand dollars ; for


the salaries of the judge of the Court of Appeals from Balti-

hundred dollars each, thirty -one thousand and five hundred


dollars; for the salary of the Attorney General, three thou-


sand dollars ; for commissions to attorney's on claims of the


State placed in their hands for collection, five thousand dol-


lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary ; for the crier


of the Court of Appeals, one thousand dollars ; for the salary


of the State reporter, one thousand dollars ; tor the State's


subscription to two hundred copies each of volumes seventy-


nine and eighty, of the Maryland Reports, twenty-eight hun-


dred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary and for


the paper on which said volumes may be printed, four hun-


dred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, in


accordance with article eight of the Code of Public General


Laws.


MILITIA.


For the support of the militia of the State, to be expended


under the supervision of the Governor, forty-five thousand


dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary ; for the

Militia.

salary of the Adjutant General of the State, fifteen hundred


dollars ; and for contingent expenses of his office, two hun-


dred and fifty dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-


sary, to be paid out of the appropriation for the support of


the militia, and the balance of said appropriation, or so


much thereof as may be necessary, for the maintenance of


the militia in the various counties of the State and in the


city of Baltimore.
