Baltimore County as so much money on account of said tax.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 529.


AN ACT to further supplement an act entitled " An act to


incorporate the Baltimore Equitable Society for insuring


houses from loss by fire," being chapter thirty -nine, of the


Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of seventeen


hundred and ninety-four.


WHEREAS, since the act of Assembly of Maryland of

seventeen hundred and ninety-four, chapter thirty-nine,


incorporating the Baltimore Equitable Society for insuring


houses from loss by fire, the Legislature of Maryland has


from time to enacted supplements to said act of incorpora-


tion, among which supplements is chapter thirty -five of the


acts of Assembly of Maryland passed at the November ses-


sion of eighteen hundred and one, and whereas in the first


section of said last mentioned act of Assembly, regulations


are made for the holding of the general meeting of the mem-


bers of the said society, and power and authority is con-


ferred on said general meetings to alter, amend and add to


the then existing articles of the said society ; and


WHEREAS the members of said society in general meet-

ings assembled from time to time, since the passage of said


act, have exercised the power and authority thus conferred,


and it is deemed desirable that the amendments and pro-


visions hereinafter enacted, should be, by this act, made,


therefore,


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Amended.

Maryland, That the first section of chapter thirty -five of the


acts of Assembly of Maryland passed at the November ses-


sion of eighteen hundred and one, be and the same is hereby


amended, so that from and after the passage of this act,


whenever a general meeting of the members of the said


Baltimore Equitable Society shall be called as provided for


in said section, the said meeting may organize at the hour


appointed for said meeting, instead of waiting one hour
