CHAPTER 385.


AN ACT to repeal and re-enact section fifteen of chapter


five hundred and ninety-eight of the acts of the General


Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January session of


eighteen hundred and ninety, entitled "An act to amend


the charter of the Loan, Trust, Security and Insurance


Company of Harford County, and to enlarge its powers,"


and to add a new section to said chapter to be numbered


section sixteen.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

and to enlarge its powers," be, and the same is hereby


repealed and the following enacted in lien thereof, and that


a new section be and the same is hereby added to said


chapter, to be numbered section sixteen.


15. That the said company shall have power to make

insurance of any kind, and to execute and perfect all such


instruments of writing as may be required therefor, and


shall also have power to consolidate with any other company


or corporation having like or similar powers, upon such


terms as may be agreed upon by the majority of the stock-


holders of each company or corporation.

Repeal.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the Legislature shall


have power at any time hereafter to repeal, alter or modify


this act.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 386.

AN ACT to prohibit pool-selling, book-making or betting
in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be unlawful in Prince George's and
Montgomery Counties for any person or persons, or associa-
tion of persons, to bet, gamble or make books and pools on
