CHAPTER 36.

AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and fifty -six, and

one hundred and fifty-nine, of article seventy-two of the

Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Washington

County," sub-title " Hagerstown," and to re-enact the fol-

lowing in lieu thereof, in amending and revising the

charter of Hagerstown and in providing for the govern-

ment thereof and to add new and additional sections to

article twenty-two of the Code of Public Local Laws,

title "Washington County," sub-title "Hagerstown."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That oections one hundred and fifty-six, and one

hundred and fifty-nine of article twenty-two of the Code of

Repeal.

" Hagerstown," be and the same are hereby repealed and the

following enacted in lieu thereof, and that the following

new sections to be named one hundred and fifty-nine A,

one hundred and fifty-nine B, one hundred and fifty-nine G,

one hundred and fifty -nine D, one hundred and fifty-nine E,

one hundred and fifty -nine F, one hundred and fifty-nine G,

one hundred and fifty-nine H, one hundred and fifty-nine I,

one hundred and fifty-nine J, one hundred and fifty -nine K,

one hundred and fifty-nine N, one hundred and fifty-nine O,

one hundred and fifty-nine V, one hundred and fifty -nine W,

one hundred and fifty-nine X, one hundred and fifty -nine Y,

one hundred and fifty-nine Z, to follow section one hundred

and fifty-nine, be aud the same are hereby added to article

twenty-two of the Code of Public Local Laws entitled

"Washington County," sub-title "Hagerstown," so as to

read as follows :

SEC. 156. The male citizens of Hagerstown of the age of

twenty-one years and upward, who shall be first duly

registered as hereinafter prescribed and who have resided
