for entering satisfaction of judgment ,on justices docket,


fifteen cents ; for granting hawkers and peddlers license, to


be paid by the hawker or pedler, $1.00.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 223.


AN ACT to repeal section six hundred and seven of article


four, of the Code of Public Local Laws, of Maryland, title


" City of Baltimore," sub-title " Justices of the Peace and


Constables,'1 and to repeal chapter one hundred and


twenty -five, of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety,


and to re-enact with amendments section six hundred and


seven of article four, of the Code of Public Local Laws,


of Maryland, title " City of Baltimore," sub-title " Justices


of the Peace and Constables.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repealed

Maryland, That section six hundred and seven of article

and
re-enacted.

four, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title


"City of Baltimore," sub-title, "Justices of the Peace and


Constables," and chapter one hundred and twenty-five of


the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety, be and the same


are hereby repealed, and that section six hundred and seven


of article four of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,


title, " City of Baltimore," sub-title. " Justices of the Peace


and Constables," be re-enacted with amendments so as to


read as follows :


607. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent

Appoint

of the Senate, shall appoint seven justices of the peace from

the peace

the first legislative district of Baltimore City, one from each


of the wards thereof, and two justices of the peace at large


from said district ; seven justices of the peace from the second


legislative district of Baltimore City, one from each of the


wards thereof, also four justices of the peace at large from


said second legislative district ; eight justices of the peace

.

from the third legislative district of Baltimore City, one


from each of the wards thereof; and four justices of the


peace at large from said district ; and twelve justices of the


peace from the city of Baltimore at large, who shall be


appointed from such ward or wards, as the Governor may


elect or determine.
