SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the comptroller be and is
|
|

School tax
|
hereby authorized and directed to apportion to Garrett
|
|
|
for Garrett
County
|
County its proper proportion of the said school tax for the
|
|
|
|
year eighteen hundred and ninety -two, known as the '' March
|
|
|
|
instalment" of said school tax to be made by said comp-
|
|
|
|
troller in pursuance of law on the fifteenth day of March in
|
|
|
|
each year, in the same manner as if couuty school of said
|
|
|
|
Garrett County had been kept open seven and a half
|
|
|
|
months in the year ending December the thirty-first.
|
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and ninety-two.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said board of school com-
|
|
|

missioners shall apply the said sums so received by the pro-
visions of this act to support the public schools of said county
|
|
|
|
in the same manner as the other portions of the state school
|
|
|
|
tax received by said county are intended to be applied
|
|
|
|
under the provisions of the existing law of this State.

|
|
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
Effective.

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 168.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commis-
|
|
|
|
sioners of Talbot County to direct the sheriff of said
|
|
|
|
county to employ all male persons physically able to per-
|
|
|
|
form manual labor, who may be incarcerated in the jail
|
|
|
|
of said county, and require said incarcerated person or
|
|
|
|
persons to work or perform any service under the direction
|
|
|
|
of said sheriff or the bailiff of Easton on the public roads
|
|
|
|
of said county or on the streets of Easton in said county .
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
Sheriff of
|
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Talbot County-
|
|
|
Talbot
|
are hereby authorized and empowered to direct the sheriff
|
|
|
County
power to
|
of said county either in person or by his deputies or the
|
|
|
employ, &c
|
bailiff of Easton to employ all male persons who may be
|
|
|
|
physically able, sentenced to confinement in said jail either
|
|
|
|
by the circuit court for said county of by any justice of the
|
|
|
|
peace of the State of Maryland in and for Talbot County
|
|
|
|
and all persons committed to said jail and confined thereiu
|
|
|
|
in default of payment of any fine imposed, during the time
|
|
|
|
of such confinement, to work upon the public roads of said
|
|
|
|
county or on the streets of Easton, or such other manual
|
|
|
|
labor and work as they may be required to by the said
|
|
|
|
|
