No. 96. An act to appropriate to the payment of the outstand-

ing overdue debt of the State, issued under chapter forty-

one of the acts of eighteen hundred and forty-seven so much

of the money received of the United States in settlement of

the claim of the State for direct war taxes, as may be neces-

sary therefor, and to forbid the further issue of the exchange

loan of eighteen hundred and ninety-one authorized there-

for to the extent of the debt so paid and to appropriate the

balance of said direct taxes to the general sinking fund.......

No. 98. An act to repeal chapter four hundred and eighty-five

of the act passed at Jauuary session eighteen hundred and

ninety of the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled an

act to repeal and re-enact chapter one hundred aud fifty -two

of the acts passed at January session, eighteen hundred

and seventy-eight, entitled an act to repeal chapter four

hundred and twenty -nine of the acts passed at the January

session eighteen hundred and seventy-four, entitled an act

to incorporate a company to construct a turnpike road from

Hagerstown, in Washington County, to the town of Sharps-
