hundred dollars per year, and in the event of a vacancy in the


office by resignation, death or removal, it shall be the duty of the


county commissioners to fill the same by appointment for the


balance of the unexpired term; and it shall be the duty of the


county commissioners to pay the salary of said sanitary commis-

be lawful for the said sanitary commissioner to demand and re-


ceive twenty-five cents for each privy-box emptied by him to be


paid by the occupant of the premises, and a fair compensation


for cleaning out the privies or sinks; upon complaint made to the


county commissioners for any neglect of duty on the part of said


sanitary commissioner, he shall be notified thereof, and if upon a


hearing the county commissioners determine said charges to be


well founded, they shall have the power to remove the said sani-


tary commissioner and rescind any contract made with him or to


fine him from five to twenty-five dollars and deduct such fine from


his salary.


SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
