|

paid by them to the State for the fiscal year ending September
|
|
|
|
thirtieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-nine.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the comptroller of the treasury be, and he is hereby author-
|
|
|
|
ized and directed to issue his warrant upon the treasurer to pay
|
|
|
|

CHAPTER 89.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to permit fishing with pound nets in the waters of the
|
|
|
|
Sassafras river from Luke's point to the head of said river.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That it shall be lawful for any owners of land bordering upon
|
|
|
|
the waters of the Sassafras river and its tributaries from Luke's
|
|
|
|
point to the head of said river, said river lying and being within
|
|
|
|
the limits of Kent county, or to whomsoever they may extend the
|
|
|
|
privilege, to take or catch fish from nets or traps known as "pound
|
Pound
Nets.
|
|
|
nets," either partly above or entirely beneath the waters of said
|
|
|
|
river from the first day of August to the first day of June next en-
|
|
|
|
suing of each year; provided, however, that such pounds nets shall
