sition, and the date of depositing each such security in the box or


boxes, vault or vaults of the safe deposit company, or any other
place rented by the State for that purpose, and finally a column


headed remarks, in which shall be entered the final disposition


made of each such security so purchased or acquired, whether


burned, redeemed or otherwise disposed of, and the date, authority
and cause of such disposition; one of said books shall be kept at


the comptroller's office, and the other at the office of the treasurer,


and shall each be duly and promptly posted in the manner as


aforesaid, under the direction of the said respective officers, and


they shall at all proper times be accessible to the governor, and


the finance committee of the senate and the ways and means com-


mittee of the house of delegates.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 572.


AN ACT to authorize the college of physicians and surgeons of


Baltimore city, to use the lot and improvements at the north-


west corner of Saratoga and Calvert streets in the city of Bal-


timore for any of the purposes specified in its charter, and to


raise money on the same for making additional improvements


thereon.


WHEREAS, by the act passed March thirtieth, eighteen hundred


and sixty -eight, chapter two hundred and forty-six, certain moneys
were appropriated for the purpose of establishing a hospital, in

connection with Washington university, to be expended in the

purchase of a hospital building, to be employed for the exclusive

use of said university so long as it is devoted to the purposes

specified in said act, and to be sold in event of diversion to other

purposes; and

WHEREAS, the said Washington university was consolidated

with the college of physicians and surgeons of Baltimore city, by

WHEREAS, it has been represented to the general assembly
