heretofore; the commissioners of the county, the board of public


school commissioners, justices of the peace, sheriff, constables and


all other State and county officers shall have, hold and exercise


their offices in said town as heretofore, except as qualified by the


other sections of this article, and the county commissioners of


Montgomery county shall on or before the first day of January,


eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and on or before the first day


of January in each and every year thereafter, pay over to the


mayor and council of Eockville, that proportion of the entire


county levy for the repair of roads which the total real property
assessed within the limits of the town of Eockville bears to the

Road tax.

the commissioners of Eockville may receive and disburse for the


maintenance of the streets of said town the amount levied upon


the real property within the corporate limits of the town of Eock-


ville for the repair of roads by said county commissioners of

CHAPTER 547.


AN ACT to enable the qualified voters of the tenth election


(Sharptown) district, in Wicomico county, to determine by


ballot, whether section forty-one, of article twenty-three, of the


Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico county, entitled


"Fences," shall be repealed.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the question whether or not secbion forty-one, of article


twenty-three, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico


county, entitled "Fences," shall be repealed, shall be submitted


to the registered and qualified voters of the tenth election ( Sharp-

held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November,


eighteen hundred and ninety, and the sheriff of said county shall


give notice of the time and purpose of said election, by advertise-


ment in a newspaper printed in said county, and by handbills set


up in said election district of said county, and the expenses of


fiaid election, including costs of advertisement, shall be levied


upon the assessable property of said county by its county commis-


sioners.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the ballots for or against such
