SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 468.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize the mayor and city council of Baltimore,
|
|
|
|
to appropriate a sum of money to purchase such portions of
|
|
|
|
turnpike as lie within the present limits of Baltimore.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the mayor and city council of Baltimore, be and are hereby
|
|
|

authorized to negotiate with and purchase from the several turn-
|
|
|
turapikes.
|
pike companies such portions of their several turnpike roads as
|
|
|
|
lie within the present limits of the city of Baltimore, upon such
|
|
|
|
terms and for such amount as may be agreed upon, and to arrange
|
|
|
|
with said several turupike companies for the removal of their
|
|
|
|
several turnpike gates beyond the limits of the city, and to appro-
|
|
|
|
priate such sums of money as may be necessary to carry out these
|
|
|
|
objects.

|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

AN ACT to appropriate certain sums of money to the support of
|
|
|
|
sundry schools and charitable institutions in the State of Mary-
|
|
|
|
land, for each of the two fiscal years ending on the thirtieth
|
|
|
|
day of September, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and the
|
|
|
|
thirtieth day of September, eighteen hundred and ninety-two
|
|
|
|
respectively, and to pay sundry claims against the State.

|
|
|
SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the sums of money hereinafter named, be and they are hereby
|
|
|

appropriated to the support of the hereinafter mentioned schools
and charitable institutions in the State, for each of the two fiscal
|
|
|

years ending on the thirtieth day of September, eighteen hundred
|
|
|

and ninety-one, and the thirtieth day of September, eighteen hun-

|
dred and ninety-two respectively, and to pay sundry claims against
|
|
|
|
the State, to wit :

1. To F. Knapp's English and German institute for the train-
|
|
|
|
ing and education of indigent mutes, the sum of twelve hundred
|
|
