liabilities, and the remaining assets and property of the corpora-

tions shall be divided pro rata among the stockholders or their
|
|
|
|
assigns.

SEC. 28. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland hereby reserves to itself the right to alter, amend or re-
|

SEC. 29. And be it enacted, That any and all laws of this State

inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and they are hereby

repealed so far as they apply to the mutual loan and savings in-

stitution of Baltimore city named in this act, and that said insti-
|

tution shall have and enjoy all and every manner of benefits and

advantages of the general powers, provisions and privileges, and
|
|
|
|
be subject to the general regulations contained in sections one to
|
|
|

thirteen inclusive, and also fifty to eighty-five inclusive of article

|
|
twenty-three of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland ;
|
|
|
|
provided, however, that in all casea and questions that shall arise,
|
|
|
|
said general powers, privileges and provisions of said sections of
|
|
|
|
said article of said code shall not, if inconsistent, interfere with
|
|
|
|
or in any wise whatever alter or diminish the general or special
|
|
|
|
powers, provisions, privileges, rights and advantages conferred or
|
|
|
|
intended to be granted by this act; and that said general regula-
|
|
|
|
tions of said sections of said code shall in no wise override, con-
|
|
|
|
trol or conflict with the letter or spirit of the special or general
|

regulations or provisions, powers, rights, or advantages conferred

|
|
or intended to be conferred by this act; and, provided further,
|
|
|
|
that in all doubtful cases a liberal construction shall be given as
|
|
|
|
will in respect thereof maintain and establish the rights, powers,

|
|
privileges and advantages generally and specifically provided,
|
|
|
|
granted or intended to be granted by this act.

|
|
|
SEC. 30. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
